ISI strives to keep the area "up-to-date"
with the latest in home electronic and integration technology.
ISI sent several representatives to the Electronic House Expo to
look into this years hottest new items for the home and business.
ISI worked with several vendors at the show to developed
new and exciting packages for the home owner. Below are listed
some of the new product and vendors ISI has started to carry.
ISI brings the modular wire system home.
November 2004
What is modular wiring? If you have spent some time on this site reading
about structure wiring then you already have a notion of what we do and where we
are going. The Modular Wiring System is just a "next step" for
those interested in streamlining technology in your home.
Unlike the structure wiring package, which is centrally located in a wall
mounted enclosure; the modular system uses a rack mounting system. This
rack is kept in a central utility closet and contains everything the structure
wire package does PLUS it can hold all of your audio systems as well.
Unlike the space limiting wall mount enclosures the racks are
"modular" in deisgn, meaning any type of equipment can be mounted
inside. Camera systems, security systems, networks, audio equipment (with
IR "bugs" for control), the ZON is even rack
mountable.
Still early in its popularity ISI believes that with more and more advances
in home technologies most home plans will include a utility closet for this
system. If you wish to know more about this system, and how to make
preparations for one in your new or existing home, please contact
us.

January 2000
Cisco and Whirlpool announced that they would join forces to
enable your kitchen access to the web. Whirlpool would provide the
internet-ready home appliances and services that interact with the consumer
and the internet. Cisco Technology will set up prototypes for both an
internet-connected refrigerator and a technologically based oven. A wireless
and removable web tablet resides in the refrigerator door. The oven would be
able to integrate a web-based recipe and begin setting up the necessary
settings to complete it.
Will it be affordable? The Whirlpool Vice President of
Corporate Technology and Engineering Development Philip Pejovich says,
"The bottom line is that it has to be affordable to be successful in
the marketplace." Home integration is not just a distant future; it is
a pressing future.
